Before and After School Care

Our Before and After School Care program is a play based curriculum that encompasses all interactions, experiences, activities and events participated in by the children to foster their wellbeing, development and learning. We provide an ever-changing program that is based on the current interests of the children attending. Children are able to foster their own learning through participation in planned experiences, ease of access to games, resources, activities, craft, dramatic play, construction and much more with free flow indoors and outdoors.

As an Outside School Hours Centre we follow the National Quality Framework ‘My Time Our Place’ The National Quality Framework (NQF) was developed in 2012 and is the result of an agreement between all Australian governments to work together to provide better educational and developmental outcomes for children using education and care services. The NQF introduces a new quality standard and consistency to improve education and care across long day care, family day care, preschool/kindergarten, and outside school hours care nationwide.

The My Time Our Place Learning Framework acts as a guide for effective curriculum planning and reflective processes. The learning areas are identified as:

  • 1. Children have a strong sense of identity
  • 2. Children are connected with and contribute to their world
  • 3. Children have a strong sense of wellbeing
  • 4. Children are confident and involved learners
  • 5. Children are effective communicators
